People create pages and groups on Facebook to share their thoughts, photos, videos and information. However, pages and groups differ from each other in many ways.. Here are these differences;

1- Facebook groups and pages are useful for public institutions, brands, businesses and individuals.. Facebook groups are used to communicate and share common interests and allow them to express their opinions.. Facebook pages is the area where a certain institution, organization, store, website or person shares about themselves.

2- In the Facebook group, it is public, private or there is the option to keep it closed, but a Facebook page is visible to everyone.

3- The purpose of the Facebook page is to identify a specific person, organization, institution, to represent a group of people or a team. Facebook groups are created by a group of people to discuss a common goal and share information.

4- The Facebook page does not add people to the page admin, anyone who wants it can follow the page. People make choices.. People unfollow if they want. In the Facebook group, people can request to join the group or can join the group directly, if it is a closed group, the administrator may or may not accept users as members.. Admin makes the choice. If the person wants to leave the group and the Admin can remove the person from the group.

5- The Facebook page has apps and tabs but not the Facebook group.

6- Person can post to Facebook group news feed but not to Facebook page. Page owner makes the page feed.

7- We can chat in the Facebook group chat bar, but not from a Facebook page.

8- We can’t see likes and followers on Facebook page, but we can see members in Facebook group

9-Facebok page on, the page owner shares. People who follow the page see the posts and can like or share the post. Page owner and people can post on the Facebook group. According to the group profile setting of the group administrator, sharing of the person’s shares can be allowed with the approval of the group administrator.

10- Since the Facebook page is created for promotional purposes, the page profile setting is not too broad.. The Facebook group is created to share ideas, so the group profile settings are wide. It can be set from confirming participation in the group, to confirming the sharing, and to whether the group page is visible or not visible to everyone.
