A German physicist named Harald Haas came up with a new solution both to solve this problem and to take the internet to a whole new level. Haas removes the fiber part from the fiber optic cables that carry the internet and uses only the optical part with LED bulbs. Yes, it’s complicated, but to keep it simple, Haas plans to migrate the internet from light bulbs to light. Although it has a structure that overlaps with that of infrared remote controls in terms of working principle, it is actually much more powerful.
