Many people connect to the Internet via Wi-Fi, whether at home or at work.. Internet problems also occur constantly. Use the Internet speed as you pay, do not be deprived. There are a few steps you can take to provide better and stronger wireless throughout your home.
The location of your modem in your home is important.. Wi-Fi signal will be weak if the modem is placed in the corners of the house or if there are walls in between.
Modem location
The ideal location of a modem is in the open area, as close to the center of your home as possible, away from other electronic devices. and it must be in a visible place above, away from electric current. The more walls, doors, and other obstructions near the modem, the weaker the signal to your device.. It is useful to keep the modem in a high place.. Modems tend to spread the signal downwards.
Some devices have two antennas. Having two antennas placed vertically ensures maximum wireless reception.
If your modem only has one antenna, it will take some trial and error.. Try positioning the antenna vertically and horizontally to see if one direction works better than the other.
If you have a place in your home where you can’t get a signal at all.. Need to connect with cable. The solution for this in large multi-storey workplaces is to install a wireless adapter instead of the center of the floor by pulling cables to the floors.
Wi-fi Channel Setting
Modem, interfaces are different from each other.. If you know how to access the modem admin panel (if you don’t know, the IP address to connect to the modem is usually “192.168.0.1”, such as the user name and password under the modem).
Remember, the more people there are on the modem, the faster the speed drops.
Again, if you are using 2.4GHz from the wireless settings menu, try channels 1, 6 and 11 from the control channel option. Conflicts may occur on 2.4GHz and your Internet may experience interruptions from time to time.. The three non-overlapping channels on 2.4GHz are channels 1, 6 and 11.. Definitely do these settings, especially if there are untimely Internet interruptions.. Channel selection varies by model. Therefore, you will find the right channel by trial and error method.. If you’re using 5GHz, you’ll have all the channels to choose from.
You can test your internet speed by searching for “Internet Speed Test” in the internet search engine. You can check it on the website. If you think the speed is lower than the package you received, contact the service provider customer service.
If it has been several years since you bought your modem, it’s probably time to upgrade.. Wireless and Internet technology have changed a lot in the last decade. Legacy modems do not support new technologies such as 802.11n/ac, 5GHz, or Internet speeds exceeding 100Mbps. When it’s time to renew your package, you can replace the modem free of charge with your service provider’s commitment.
