Installing Android Boot to Flash Disk or Memory Card

This will require a USB drive or SD card of at least 2GB size. Do not have any special files on the USB or memory card to be used, because they will be deleted because they will be formatted.

After backing up all your data, you will need the Android x86 project from here. On this site, you can choose according to the state of your operating system as seen below.. Continue working with Rufus and select your USB drive from the “Device” box at the top. “ANDROID-X86” selected above is the name of my USB volume. You will choose whatever the name of your USB volume is.. Rufus will delete the drive in question. Don’t forget to back up your own files on USB.. If you have more than one removable drive attached to your computer, double-check the drive letter to make sure you have installed it on the correct drive.

Make sure “Large FAT32 (Default)” is selected in the “File System” menu. Finally, check the “Create a bootable disk using” box, then select “ISO Image” from the drop-down menu. Click the small CD drive looking icon next to the “ISO Image” option to select the Android x86 ISO file you downloaded earlier.

Once your file is selected, a quick scan of the file will be done to confirm that everything is ok.. Assuming everything is checked, you are ready to install. Click the “Start” button at the bottom right for this to happen.

Here a dialog will appear informing you that the file is “ISOHybrid image detected”, which will give you the option to choose one of the two ways. “Write in ISO Image mode (Recomended)” or “Write in DD Image mode” Default and recommended method “Write in ISO Image mode (Recomended)” should be selected. Go ahead and click “OK” to confirm. Another warning will appear informing you that everything on the drive will be deleted. Click “OK” to proceed.

It won’t take long to install the ISO to the drive. The installation will be completed when the progress area above the “Ready” text at the bottom is completely green.. After the process is complete, you can close Rufus and remove your flash disk.

Run or Install Android from USB Drive

The next thing to do is to make your computer start with USB. Just as we start the computer with a CD while formatting the computer, we must insert the USB into the computer and start the computer with the USB. To do this, you will need to change some settings in the BIOS.

The boot preference options on computers vary depending on the motherboard brand and model.. You need to press a key such as F8, F10 or F12 to start the computer with the BIOS or the Computer startup preference.
