Netflix announced the approval of the second season of the fantasy series The Witcher, adapted from the world-famous book series. The adventure of the fantasy series starring Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra and Freya Allan will continue.

Exhibitor Lauren Schmidt Hissrich said, “I am extremely excited to announce the approval of the second season before the audience has even watched the first season. We can’t wait to return to the world of The Witcher to continue telling the stories of Geralt, Yennefer and Ciri with our amazing cast and crew.”

The shooting of the second season, which will be released in 2021, will begin in London at the beginning of 2020.

The lead roles are Henry Cavill (Mission Impossible – Fallout, Man of Steel), again as Geralt of Rivia. Anya Chalotra (The ABC Murders, Wanderlust) will star as Yennefer and Freya Allan (The Third Day, Into The Badlands) as Ciri.

The Witcher’s second season will consist of 8 episodes.

The second season will executive produce Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, Tomek Baginski, Jason F. Brown, Sean Daniel, Mike Ostrowski, Steve Gaub and Jarosław Sawko.
