Let's get to know SWAP (virtual memory) files

SWAP (virtual memory) allows the system to use more memory by using HDD space and simulating RAM, and if the system goes into low memory state, it frees up the space occupied by a program there and ensures that the program runs on the HDD, providing enough ram for other programs. It provides and swaps their locations , this slows the PC down significantly as it requires HDD reading and writing , but thus allowing the system to run more programs than it can normally run , SWAP files may differ from system to system , for example in windows they are created when necessary and deleted when they are not needed Unix and in Linux, there is a permanent SWAp space and a part of the HDD is allocated to it, which is slightly faster than in windows, but it is also useful to create when necessary in case of lack of disk space.
